Marcia has completed a Bachelors of Science degree from McMaster University and went on to graduate with her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from Niagara University. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists.
Marcia utilizes various therapeutic approaches, including dialectical behaviour therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing, applied behaviour therapy as well as solution-focused and strengths-based approaches. She has experience working with clients of all ages, ranging from early childhood to adulthood. She has supervised clinical training in working with individuals with generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and autism spectrum disorder.
Marcia has always had a strong interest in working with individuals who struggle with eating disorders, disordered eating and body image concerns, as she believes there is a strong need for more assistance and awareness in this specific community. As a counsellor Marcia is dedicated to helping her clients cultivate wellness through deep compassion and understanding. She strives to build strong therapeutic relationships to assist individuals in discovering their strengths, which they can utilize to find a healthy balance in all of their life pursuits.
