Emily Di Tomasso

Emily Di Tomasso holds a Honours Bachelor of Life Sciences degree from Queen's University and is certified in Reiki, Yoga and Recreational Therapy. She has worked in mental health at St. Joseph's Healthcare for 4 years, where she led group programs on topics including but not limited to Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, stress management, fitness, expressive art, leisure education and yoga. Emily utilizes a holistic and strengths-based approach for treatment and has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Counseling Techniques and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.

As a young woman who struggled with Bulimia, Emily understands the guilt, shame and isolation associated with eating disorders. She is passionate about Body Brave's mission to connect, support and empower individual's on their road to recovery. Emily shares her skills and experience to encourage others to build self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-respect as they journey to wholeness.

Emily attributes her healing transformation to perseverance, spiritual development and faithful support from friends and family. She regularly practices yoga, meditation, Reiki, aromatherapy, journaling and self-compassion to keep her grounded, grateful and healthy. When she is not advocating for those living with mental illness, Emily manages Compassion Tree Wellness, a personalized wellness service for people living with disabilities. The service helps to enrich and improve one's quality of life using meaningful leisure activities, meditation, Reiki, yoga and more!
